VIVA PRESENTATION

This presentation really exciting for me. It is because i can express my own thought to my classmate. i choose jewish and their deceit for my presentation. before this presentation, i need to do some research regarding Jewish. i support what Adolf Hitler had said. during my research, i had my own opinion towards Jewish. They are really unique for me. Not all of them are bad. they tend to become bad because of people all around the worlds hates them. it also make me realize that in this world human consist only two types which is bad and good. its not depend on their races, skin, religion or so on. i can answer all the question from the panelist accept fandi . he really expert then i can't answer him. but its okey. if not, it will not call as a learning process .=)
in my opinion, the best presenter for this presentation is Fatin Farhana. i choose her not because of she is my group members, but her effort towards this presentation. she keep practicing and consult with Sir mark. other than that, she manage to end his presentation on time. all the classmate understand and the most interesting part is her syllogism. she really keep practicing what Sir mark had teach us.

ISLAMOPHOBIA

did you ever heard about islamophobia? islamophobia means the fear or hatred of Islam, Muslims or Islamic culture. islamophobia can be characterized by the belief that all or most Muslims are religious fanatics, have violent tendencies toward non Muslims, and reject as directly apposed to Islam such concept as equality, tolerance and democracy.
this phobia occurs after 11 September incidence. They label Islam as a terrorist. they isolated Muslims all over the world especially in America. this incidence effect Muslims all over the world. most of them need to pretend that they are not Muslim in order to avoid from being killed or been prejudice from surrounding. lots of alternative had beeen taken to solve this matter. for example, America now try to build 'Masjid" at ground zero site. lots of peoples against the government because its like insult them to build Islamic center at the site. instead of that, film My Name is Khan is the best film to show how Muslim get lots of pressure after they declare they been attack by Islamic terrorist. in order to understand this matter deeply, watching this movie is the better way rather than interviewing others.

this title is interesting same goes to the article.this article is written by Sir mark. it tells about his life during he was teenage. Sir Mark using a really high imagination and lots of ideology in his writing. i feel really impress with his article. he really make me think critically to understand what is the story he wants to deliver. he use Alfred, Benson and Lucky to replace the cigarette names. if u are not aware with it, u will not understand what is the story all about. he use this article to teach us how to use discourse analysis. for example in paragraph one, he ask us to seek for thematic words and phrases. we select some words which is Rascals, Mischievous, stay the hell away, the name basis and long lecture. then, he also ask us to identify point of view which is concerned parents about the dangers of smoking. then he able to produce ideology which is smoking influences youngsters to perform negative behaviour. interesting right? i love the ways he explain about something in class. it enforce me to think logically and critically.

Euphemistic Language

euphemistic language is the expression towards negative issues in polite form in order not to offend peoples. The purpose of the substitution may also be to avoid revealing secret or sacred names to the uninitiated, or to obscure the identity of the subject of a conversation from potential eavesdroppers. Some euphemisms are intended to amuse. usually, mass media is the main user of this language because they facing with public. there are lots of euphemistic language we use everyday. during our class with sir mark, he use video from George Carlin to shows us what is euphemistic language is all about. in his video, he tell his audience the disadvantages of euphemistic language. instead of that, there are some opinion about euphemistic language. according to Noam Chomsky, euphemistic language is the words change but the meaning stay the same and someone will reveal his own perspective/ideology when speak.h According to Micheal Foucoult, he thinks that we should use honest and direct language. he thought that the words may be the same but the meaning may not change. there are some example of euphemistic language we always practice in our daily life.

JULIUS CAESAR

who is Julius Caesar .? i ever heard his name but i never know who he is before a learn with sir mark. He is a nobleman. he is famous and intelligent dictator of Rome. he conquer all part of rome during his empire.unfortunately, there are some of senator in the parliament envy with his success. he dead because of jealousy of his senator with his power. he get killed when all the bad senator stabbed him in Parliament hall. instead of that, his lovely Brutus also involve with it. Caesar feel so shock then he shout, "ETTU BRUTE?" before he get died. During Caesar funeral, Mark Anthony who felt Caesar is not ambitious comes out to deliver speech. he think alternative to influence Rome's citizen to believe that Caesar is nobleman, not ambitious. then he comes up with brilliant ideas which is syllogism. his syllogism during the speech had change Roman mind set that Caesar is not guilty. then, Rome had war .during the war, brutus was lose and he killed himself because pressure and feel guilty killing Julius Caesar.

THE VALUE OF TELEVISION

this excerpt is about watching television cannot educate people is written by Paul Robinson. this is because television is for entertainment, not educate. besides that, education take two ways of communication. it is really different with education. Television gives the viewers numerous of information. The information sometimes is indecisive. Therefore, it is hard for the viewers too decide whether the information they get are fact or opinion from others. Information from television is hard to memorize. It is because it cannot repeat the scene if we are not focusing while watch it. Viewer also can remember the informative info for a while. Learning process takes places when they understand information, but not memorize it. Peoples cannot focus where there are requires two elements which is entertainment and education takes place. TV programmed will distract human mind when they try to learn something. Television is a matter of time and entertains, not educates. Instead of that,television programmed also contains lots of information at the same time. It’s blurry the viewer knowledge to grab which information they should keep in their mind. This situation pressure the viewer on how to memorize the information and peoples tends to make television as a reference in news, not learning process. ^_^

COMMENT ON MALAY AND THEIR HEREDITY

This article is written by Dr Mahathir Mohammad. He is 4th prime minister for Malaysia. In his article, he mention about Malay people behaviour and mind set. Dr Mahathir critise Malay because of weak student performance in their study. He state about several reasons why they weak in their study and its related with their own heredity. He state that Malay student weak in their study performance because their parents not accepting intermarriages, celibacy, and marrying at the early ages. all of this element produces a weak brain among Malay races.

in my own opinion, his idea can be accept but not at the whole. I think he just want to warn Malay race that they need to change their mind set if want to develop. About marrying at the early age, i'm not agree with him. It is because marrying at the early ages can help them prevent from social problem. nowadays, social problem among youth in Malaysia increasing a day by day. lots of abandoned baby case happen. Usually this baby death body identify as Malay. In order to avoid this worse situation happen again, they can married early.

HISTORY DOCUMENTARY ON JEWISH

This video is really interesting. i really interest with it. before this, i got bad impression on Jewish peoples. I always think the reason why they tend to become evil and being hated internationally. After watching the video, i make my own assumption that they are not evil but enforced to become evil. Their past history is very complicated. They moving lots of times from one places to another after being isolated by other races. their background history is sad.

In my opinion, Jews become cruel nowadays is to prove to the whole world that their races are not inferior. Then they able to prove by having high technology machine and expert in economy aspect. but still, world cannot accept them. It maybe happen because of their attitude which love to be proud with own races or known as ethnocentrism. if they able to throw out the bad behaviour, they can live happily like other races.

in other perception, i also think Jewish is divided into two groups which goo and bad. the bad side is who in Zionism. i mean the one who support zionism. i had look one pivture that jewish itself not supported zionism. they declare zionism is cruel. so, i think those who rejecting Zionism can be dealing and label as good person. as a conslusion from this dissucion, i learned that we need to know something before we judge. don't judge the book by its cover. ^_^

THE ANIMAL FARM MOVIE REVIEW

Animal farm is interesting story i ever seen regarding with the politician. before this, i never understand what is political all about. but, after watching this movie, i tend to understand about how tricky to become politician. it lead us to become careful with every single step we had taken in rules the government. for example, in snowball leadership the farm run smoothly with The Seven Commandments.The Seven Commandments are laws that were supposed to keep order and ensure elementary Animalism within Animal Farm. The Seven Commandments is:

1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy
2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
3. No animal shall wear clothes.
4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
7. All animals are equal.

however, after snowball been kick by Napeoleon in leadership,the rules are change according to his lifestyle. the farm become fussy but the animal did not realizes except Jessie,the female dog which stand for her own right alone. she tried to persuade others but all of them ignoring her.

then, the rules changes after Napeoleon era which is:

1. "Four legs good, two legs better!"
2. No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets.
3. No animal shall drink alcohol to excess.
4. No animal shall kill any other animal without cause.
5. All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.

TEN REASONS OF WHY JEWS MUST HATE THE MUSLIMS

1. They think that they are the chosen people and better than others.
Qur’an verses: 2:47 Children of Israel! Call to mind the favor which I (God) bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all other nations.
2:122 Same as 2:47
44: 32 And We (plural for God) have chosen them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamîn (mankind, and jinni) and our choice was based on a deep knowledge.

2. The Qur’an described them as “Monkeys and Pigs.”
Qur’an: 5:60 Shall I point out to you something much worse than this (not following the holy book: the Bible) by the treatment it received from Allah, those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshiped evil- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path.
(Obviously the verse is talking about other nations that do not follow the bible and not the Jews at all).

3. The Qur’an says they are cursed.
Allah cursed the Jews in the Qur’an is also absolute lie.
Qur’an verse: 5:78 Curses were pronounced on those among the Children of Israel who rejected Faith (in God and the Torah), by the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary: because they disobeyed and persisted in excesses.
The verse is not talking about all the Israelites, but is only about those who rejected God and the Torah.

4. They are rich and control many markets.
This one just represents jealousy. Judge people by their deeds and actions. There is nothing wrong if you are rich. What is wrong, is when you use that money to promote hatred toward others. The Saudis are rich, do Muslims hate them? It this is no different from Muslims, Christians, or Hindus who also have some rich people among them. Should one hate all of these people also, because “some” of them are rich?

5. They think that they are an intelligent race.
Genuine statistics show that the Jews have had more scientists and contributed more to science than the whole Arab world, even though they are only a very small number compared to Arabs. Furthermore, IQ is mainly genetic, and Jews marry mainly from within their community. This magnifies the effect of certain genetic factors and certain genetic diseases within their own community (such as Tay-Sachs disease).

6. They do not believe Mohamed and Islam.
Qur’an verse: 2:62 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians - any of them who believe in God and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

7. They do not follow the Qur’an.
The Qur’an did not ask the Jews and Christians to follow any thing but the Torah and the Bible.
Qur’an verse: 5:66 If only they (Jews and Christians) stood fast by the Law of the Torah, the Gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side.
Qur’an verse: 5:43 But how do they (the Jews) come to you for decision, when they have the Torah which has the law of God.
In fact the Qur’an blamed the Jews of asking Mohammed to judge between them in their tribal problems, instead of following the torah.

8. They betrayed Mohamed and Muslims.
Muslims hate the Jews based on a historical story. It is described in Islamic History books as: “When Mohammed had a war against the Idolaters, he and the Muslims burrowed a great tunnel around the city of the Muslims and left an area to be protected by the Jews.” According to this story, the Jews allowed the enemies of Muslims to enter the city from this area. Based on this story, millions of Muslims came to hate the Jews. The Qur’an verse: 17:15 No bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another (mistakes or sins).
This story does not come from the Qur’an. It is only in some Islamic history books, which are considered much less accurate than the Qur’an.

9. Israel has stolen the Arab land.
The Qur’an considered this land as the promise of G-d to the Israelites.
Qur’an verses: 17:104 And God said thereafter to the Children of Israel, "Dwell securely in the land of promise."
2- 5:21 "O my people (the Jews)! Enter the holy land which God hath written to you, and turn not back.” ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin.”
3- 26:59 Thus it was, but God made the Children of Israel inheritors of it (the promised land).

10. Israel kills innocent Arabs and Muslims everywhere, torture them, and rape their women.
This point fails the test of logic.
If this were true, why then do we see tens of thousands of Palestinians waiting at the cross borders to get permission to go and work in Israel? Why would these people go intentionally to the place that, kills them, torture them, and rape them?
Only Muslims can stop their fellow Muslims in this unjustifiable hatred against the Jews. Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin.
Qur’an verse: 5:8 O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear Allah. For God is well acquainted with all that ye do.

~~~SYLLOGISM~~~

The new words i learned from sir mark. Syllogism. Syllogism means a form of deductive reasoning consisting of a major premise, a minor premise, and a conclusion. Sound interesting right? For the first time heard about this, i’m little bit confuse. After gaining explanation from sir mark, i do understand what syllogism means. And i able to make my own syllogism. Here are some example of my own syllogism:

I. Caesar was ambitious,

A kingly crown is ambitious,

Caesar refuse kingly crown,

Therefore, Caesar is not ambitious.

II. Caesar was an ambitious,

Ambitious is Romans enemy,

Those who are ambitious should be killed,

Brutus says he was ambitious,

Therefore, Brutus should be killed.

All of my syllogism sound interesting right? This syllogism are made for Julius Caesar oration. We learned about Julius Caesar in class to understand how syllogism are used to influence Romans from hated Julius Caesar. Mark Anthony used this method when he was given the opportunity to delivery some speech during Julius Caesar oration. During class session, all of my classmate are obsessed with the word “ET TU BRUTE”. They really love to say that word including me. This words come from Julius Caesar itself when he saw his beloved son,Brutus, stabbed him. I hope, i could keep practicing this method when i use English in future.

THE JEWS AND THEIR DECEITS

This article written by Adolf Hitler who hates Jews so much. He talk lots bad things about jewish and expose his feeling about Jewish attitude. In this article, adolf looks so angry with jewish because they are hypocrite.

In my opinion, i feels so curious why peoples all around this world really hates jewish. After i read about the article,i think the reasons can be accepted. Before this, i had watch video about why Jewish turn to evil in sir mark class. Their background history contains lots of sadness and inferior. They been treated badly by all people all over the world. Jewish had been isolated, tortured and killed. I also think its the reasons why they become cruel because they want to revenge what did their races faced in previous time.
During last Hari Raya holidays, i had asked about this issues to my brother. he also hates Jews like a Hitler. He told me Jewish is so arrogant with their society member. They always think their race are the best races in the world meanwhile other races are like a pig. their ethnocenterism spirit is too tough and high.My brother also said, peoples hates Jews because usually Jews will start make a problem. In addition, according to our religion, there are no prophets get killed by their own races except Jews. Their prophet,Daud a.s., get killed because he advice his king for not married his own daughter.
As a conclusion, in my opinion, there must be some reasons why someone do something we thought as unthinkable. if i'm not mistaken, Quran or Hadith had state, if we are living peacefully with Israel, it shown Islam is not a truth religion. Wallahualam.

According to wikipedia, Superstition is a credulous belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge. The word is often used pejoratively to refer to folk beliefs deemed irrational. This leads to some superstitions being called "old wives' tales". It is also commonly applied to beliefs and practices surrounding luck, prophecy and spiritual beings, particularly the irrational belief that future events can be foretold by specific unrelated prior events.

Supersticous is not only popular in Malaysia but its around the world. Its usually related with the culture and religions. It had been practising because they tend to believe that from the old generation. Here are some example of common supersticous had been practising in Filiphino.

• If you open an umbrella indoors, a centipede will fall down from the ceiling.
• Accidentally dropping your fork on the floor might mean that a male visitor will come by.

• After a Baptism, the parents and the newly christened child should rush out of the church ahead of the others.

• Singing while you are cooking means that you will end up widowed.

• if your left hand itches, money will come to you

In my opinion, supersticous is the way peoples teach their children to have a better manners or behave. it also have interesting roots.Sometimes it very useful because their child will follow because they tend to believe it. Apart from that, supersticious show the race culture and norms.As an example we can see, Filiphino supersticious is similar to malay culture which in a same asion region. Its mean our culture and piliphino is not have so much different and we share the same behaviour and culture as an Asian people.
